The Fall

A single spindle hanging there
You cut it quickly in spite
I paused a moment awaiting relapse
Closing my eyes on the downward flight

Seconds clicked by behind my lids
Black morphing into pictures
Water color faces with screaming lips
The words, I never even heard

Love is not simplicity
Nor a complex and hateful machine
Love is indifferent, aloof
It let me fall, unredeemed

Rushing, whizzing into oblivion
My lungs on fire with the truth
Head blurred by blinding fear
No more feelings left to soothe
