The Longest Winter

He brings me his sugar
And I can see his ghost in my sleep
Ring some sweet song through the hall
For death's sake, my heart please keep

Fire and frost do not make ice
I can't mend the chilling voice of night
No more than I can fix you
Make it so, I will slip you the pill

And devour
And caress
We will dine
On the flesh

I believe the air sings with spirits
As breezes carry our cries
Winter can't mend the song
This winter has gone on so long
