Strange Fiction

I wish there was some beauty to hold
Instead of the ashes that consume our lungs
Blot out the sky, darken our hearts
And corrupt every word that leaves our lips

I think I saw your face in a dream
This is some kind of strange fiction
And we're living in a time warp
And the air moves like slow motion glitter

Art is just repressed violence
We're all breathing cancer
When your mouth moves and something makes sense
You'll be the first to know

The feelings pulse, rarely shake
Just stir the blood and disconnect
I hope my heart beat soothes you to sleep
And in your dreams I'll dance

Breathe the words, you're alone
I need you like so much salt in the wound
The sting can't complete a damn thing
But I want to try to find the meaning
