Catacombs

Is it a memory in the catacombs
Of our minds, of our fears
I tear out the sky just to find a nook
Where I can hide from the critical looks

She lifted her eyes so gently
Just to sink back into the sea
God moves in her slowly now
Penetrating some spirit I never found

I wish I could take your hand on cold winter nights
Just to make you feel less lonely
Summer days feel like bated breath
And I'm still trapped on the brink of life and death

Teardrops shine like diamonds
In the fixated glitter world you live in
Carry your dreams to cemetary stones
Lay down your burden or face it alone

As far as you travel
Light will grace your steps
If my words don't mean a thing to you
I hope you find some other truth
