In Due Time

Somehow, I know my days are few

Back to the future of uncertainty

My hope for us, replaced by trust, in God and faith

At church I listened to my favorite hymn today

“How Great Thou Art”

the choir sang with heartfelt joy

I made a silent request for this hymn

Again to be played for me in the end

While tonight I hark to a different song

My heart plays along

To the lyric from the wind

Howling out your name

Over and over again

Driving me insane

I see that I am not worthy

Of his love bestowed on me…divine

Answer to my prayers I am sure he will render

All in his… due time

Thoughts of you came stealing

As I tried to concentrate on God’s word

Being sought by many, embellished by few

Had to choke back my emotions and feelings

Wondered if you were taught, to thine own heart be true

Doesn’t really matter to you much

That you mean that much to me

Wonder if you in memory clutch

Real happiness…now that you’re free

Well, all for now,

My heart and soul surrender

You win, your strong

Your right, I’m wrong

Hold the white flag up high to render

The verdict, the wind howls again your name

The same…excruciating pain remains

Guess some things will never change

Until…due time
