Poetry from the Heart My life has been so blessed
so full of love - a life well lived
yes there's been a lot of sorrow
stress and grief, mistakes made
yet in spite of all that
much happiness along the way
six beautiful children to raise
lessons to be learned
and watching them at play
mistakes that were made
times I cried, times I prayed
losing family and friends
to illness and death by the score
yet knowing they've gone
to a friendlier shore
yes there's been sorrow
and grief a-plenty
but the blessings I've had
outweigh them by far
So, God, I am grateful indeed
for the life I've been given
whether in plenty or in need
You've stayed constantly by my side
always a loving and caring guide
