My grandfather’s Black leather Jacket

My grandfather’s Black leather Jacket (David E. Rodríguez)

My grandfather is a really simple person, he is 80 years old, and every single day he wakes up and goes to work at the hospital. But I think something weird is happening to him because every single day of his Old’s man life he feels the exact same thing, Weather it was raining, hot, cold or cloudy. Every single day he feels the same exact shivering in all his body, in his arms and legs, in his chest and waist.  Every single day his blood is cold and his fingertips are ahold. His skin is white as snow and his mind is blown and gone.  Every single day he wakes at the same cold house with a cold backyard and cold rooms.  She is hanging in the closet, black and majestic as a raven, hanging up there, in the darkness and the shadows of that tiny cold closet of that cold room on that cold house. Just waiting for being used. Her name is Teresa and she is a black leather Jacket. It’s kind of strange to give a name to a Jacket, but this black leather jacket is different, this black leather Jacket is special. It seems that she is an extension of my grandfather’s body. Any place he decides to go she must go with him. She was a gift from my grandmother, whom still lives with him at that cold house. Every single day he goes to work he wears that jacket not only because he is cold, he takes a part of my grandmother with him, in this way he feels complete, because he knows that even when he is not at the home, Teresa still is with him. Yes, my grandmother’s name is Teresa Too. Teresa is a Calvin Klein black leather Jacket with a golden zipper and it has wool inside.  Her sleeves are long. It has a shiny and smooth black surface, just as it should be. Her smell is really weird. It smells like a hospital’s antibacterial soap. It’s pretty ironic because he works at a hospital. At the end of the day: he comes back and he gives a kiss to his wife, have some dinner, maybe a cup of wine, or maybe an Indio ambar beer. After dinner, he climbs his cold stairs, enters his cold room, then he finally arrives, to his cold closet full of shadows and darkness, and he hangs Teresa there, hoping to see her on the next day.
