Misery Loves Company

When the band of youthfuls

Came together

Then was the dawn

Of the longest night ever

Wildflowers in bloom

To the naked eye

Standing stark

With voices to the sky

The night so long

Brought a different light

To those eager minds

Feeding on plight

Adorned in lovelies

Dressing each surface

To appeal to all

Unknowing purpose

Reality is thin

Like the ice you are walking

Before entering that black hole

They wait there, stalking

Feeding on each

That enters their home

Never should you leave

Your future then known

Become one of them

In that abundant night

Never again will you aspire

Never again see daylight

Dancing to the dark

Euphoria divine

Swirling downward spirals

Ebony entwined

So watch the photons circle

Twisting around your fate

Listen to all the hatred

That the wildflowers create

Webs and weaves

Games of deceit

Don’t let it all infect you

Hinder their conceit

Struggle this day now

To keep head above water

Stay in the light

Befallen a rotter

None have made it back

Once sunken and erased

Now graceless and worthless

No longer human race

So when they come for you

In the wee night hours

Escape grasping fingers

Beware of the wildflowers
