Drunk Boy

As the drunk boy passes the crowd, alone.
I can't help to wonder if this slumber's his home.
If he knows that the birds sing, right after the rain.
And nothing beats comfort, right after the pain.

But when you're all numb, the sun never shines.
"The sky's always cloudy, let's put down the blinds."
Things could be better, if the sky would turn blue.
I know you're alone, cause I'm there next to you.

And I know your excuse.
The world can be ugly, if ugly's your view.
Your words they mean less, when said in a slur.
And moments fade fast, when stuck in a blur.

I'll promise you now, as I promised you then.
These eyes will not rest, until they see you smile again.

As the drunk boy passes the bedroom door
I can't help to wonder, if he feels like a whore.
If he knows that forgiveness is sweet and is pure.
And nothing beats love, when it's sound and it's sure.

But when you're all bitter, the love never grows.
Your hearts always heavy, Your eyes always show.
Things could be better, if your heart could ring true.
But I know you're alone, cause I'm there next to you
