A cardiac arrest waiting to contest
the lasting sense of hope I attest
Followed by failed attempts to regroup
after being completely duped
It wasn't easy, but I confessed
I had misstepped
What I would give for a second step
to redirect and change the effects
to have taken another path
to walk where right was all along
I've been left with songs that are filled with hope
and ease me through this teasing moat of
which runs around my heart
until I lower the bridge
and release this tension in my chest
