End Of The Story

Verse1
I'm a lean mean
mother lovin' machine
too stressed out to fight
too far gone to care
don't pour me another one

it came on too strong
don't want it to mess me up all night long

Verse2
I gotta guitar in one hand
my woman in the other
one's hard to quit
but I can't walk away
from the other
so I pass my pick
to my brother

Bridge
I can't seem to figure
all this out
too scared to move
so I'm just sittin' out
watchin' life pass me by

Verse3
So she hands me another
guitar
says "play on"
'cause tonight's the night
for you and me
we're gonna get rockin'
turn it on tear it up

Repeat Bridge

Chorus
'Cause we're
at the End Of The Story
this book's about to shut
don't wanna open it again
'cause all that
just messes me up
I'm at the End Of The Story
I'm red, black, and blue
yeah the End Of The Story
I'm mad at you

Verse4
Give me another shot
as I'm walkin' out the door
just one more song
to rock out some more
don't ruin my good time now
just let me go out in a blaze
let the fire go out
I'll be sittin' here waitin'
in the haze

Repeat Chorus

(solo)

Verse5
One more shot
it's 3 o'clock
walk me out the door
take me home
let me play more
another song
for you
gettin' my groove thang on

Repeat Chorus

Author's Notes/Comments:

"End Of The Story" originally started out as a bar song. I changed the lyrics later down the road. It was another fantasy of what it would be like to play music at the bar and leave with the girl.
