Rock pools

Searching through the rock pools
On this unholy beach of life
It's there I see the visions
Of Love and Hate and strife

There'in lie the stories
Of life both loved and lost
There reflect the faces
Of those who paid the cost

Of battered wives and starving kids
Who live in poverty and shame
Refugees from death and danger
Whose lives will never be the same

Caused by hate and evil
In the name of many a God
Lie victims dead and buried
Deep beneath the sand and sod

Everyone needs to believe
In something greater than himself
So pick you then an idol
From the religions on the shelf

Then go and kill and mutilate
In defence of your beliefs
And form a rag tag army
From murderers and thieves

And when there is no reason
To behave in Evil ways so bad
Declare this an Unholy war
And call the beast "Jihad"
