Warrior Girl

There was once a girl who was scared to live her life, full of anxiety, anger, and doubt.
The only thing she could enjoy were those hours spent alone in her room, ignoring the outside world as she sketched dozens of pictures.
In a small town filled with smaller minds, school was less of a learning tool and more of a screw she felt was driving against her making her feel stuck.
Chaos from her surroundings flowed into her like heroin from a needle, and her home was never a safe haven. Yes she was a fighter from birth, had to be for her family, but even fighters need time too rejuvenate and focus.
Prolonged thoughts created puddles in her mind that muddied her spirit, and physically broke her down. Destiny must have recognized her struggle, and pushed her to live by her middle name which is Desire.
She put her past aside after deciding it was time to change, and soon her mountains of hardships became mere bumps in the road.
The closer she was behind graduating from high school, the more she detoxed and transformed back into that pure spirited, alive, happy individual she was meant to be.
When she finally started to believe in herself she gave her doctors back their harmful depression medications and useless therapy sessions, and again used art as an outlet.
The circumstances that used to discourage her turned in to pure motivation.
