you pretend that you can't hear me

and that i'm not really there

you pretend that i am nothing

and that you never really cared

you pretend that i'll just dissapear

and that i'll never fill your dreams

you pretend that everything is perfect

and that  nothing's like it seems

you pretend that i'm not living

and that i never really was

you pretend that i was never there

and that i wasn't any loss

but you can keep pretending

and keep leaving me behind

because i know i'm there

lingering in the back of your mind
