My Sweetest Prey

Folder:
2009

As a shark or an eagle

Circles round its unsuspecting prey

Gathering victims closer

And encouraging fear within

So I circle round your presence

Hoping to capture your essence.

Perhaps you will catch my idle gaze.

Perhaps your innocence will remain

As does a doe's in the forest

While under hunter's supervision

As she feeds and watches

Her tender youth.

Fear unbeknownst to her,

As it is unbeknownst to you.

My vision is clear

As I watch your every movement

Reading your reactions

For the slightest hint of longing.

Do you sense my presence

As you did in the distant past?

Can you feel my eyes upon you or

Hear the silenced passing of my breath?

Or do you sit unacknowledging,

     Unknowing,

     Unfearing

Your back turned towards me,

Your eyes facing forward,

Innocent in your action?

Watch your step my gentle creature.

Do not fear my wrath,

For today you are only a

Victim of my tender love.

I am not as creepy as I make myself sound. I promise.
