Kalifornia

When I had you on my malignant mattress

I never knew you possessed the talent to become an award-winning actress

At the tip of your tongue is where the plausible lies always grow

A corrupted garden where your true self will always glow

I've watched you completely mold yourself into a brand new form

The lies fall from your lips as rapidly as ruinous raindrops in a traumatic thunderstorm

You return back to your fortress in the hills while you bury me in my contaminated crypt

Acting your vacuous life away as if you were ignorantly reading from a scribbled script

Walking the red carpet in Hollywood made our hibernating hearts run wicked and wild

As filthy as a mass murderer, as innocent as a newborn child

We crashed our stunt cars into oblivion, we put the puzzle back together in my blemished bed

The mannequins and robots are very alive tonight, but all the shining stars in southern California have faded out and been pronounced dead

We won a Golden Globe for our splendid performance on the silver screen

Waving a white flag in the black sky; your gray heart was left unseen

We burnt down the unstable statues and built majestic mountains so we could see it all

We ripped out our eyes and raised our hands so we could feel the never-ending free fall

The bloodstains are now left on my mattress

When you smiled, you were merely another aspiring actress

In front of the candid camera is where the lies always appear

A tainted abyss where the truth pusillanimously hides in fear

I've watched you come then I watched you go,

The cries fall from my eye as quickly as fragile flakes of snow

Your fans see you on the screen and scream, "I want to be just like her"

Feigning your life as if you were unconsciously reading from white lined paper

Walking the wooden plank in Limbo made our sheltered souls fly free

As wide as the space between our love, as narrow as the space between you and me

We broke our pliant hearts into obscurity, we stitched the pieces together in my hostile home

The disposable puppets and mechanical animals live happily together, but all the heroes in Hollywood are weak and alone

We earned a golden arrow for our outstanding duet on the silver stage

Tossing a green grenade in the red battlefield, your black plague was written on the naked page

We destroyed our semiprecious dreams and created noteworthy nightmares so we could learn to crawl

We erased our future and pressed rewind so we could relive our eternal downfall
