There you go again, walking right by my bedroom door,

I'm too shy to ask you to come inside.

Then you leave again, just like before,

Count to ten and I still can't find you; you must know of a good place to hide.

There you go again, I see you running in circles one more time,

Then you disappear again; starting to wonder if I'll ever make you mine.

My mind is so strong but my heart is so weak,

A never-ending game of hide and seek.



One, two, three, four,

Hiding right outside my door.

Five, six, seven, eight,

I must find the key to your heart before it's too late.

Eight, seven, six, five,

Hiding out where I can't survive.

Four, three, two, one,

This silly game has just begun.



You see me and assume I'm doing fine,

But I start to cry before I can even count to nine.



There you vanish again, right out of my visible range,

I'm too much of a failure to follow you into the night.

Then you never come back again, wishing the past I could change,

To have made this disaster work out right.

There you go again, beyond my grasp one more time,

Then you disappear again; I'll never win this crazy game and make you mine.

My mind is so agile yet my heart is so slow,

It seems like you wish to be hidden from me forever, I guess I should just give up and let go.



One, two, three, four,

Hiding inside your home with a locked door.

Five, six, seven, eight,

All my love has turned into hate.

Eight, seven, six, five,

I've been waiting here patiently for you to arrive.

Four, three, two, one,

I admit defeat, for in this game of lust and lies, you have truly won.



I see you and assume you're doing fine,

But you run away before I can even count to nine.
