“Bearnard as a world changer” by Daisy Alvarez and Roberto Garcia

When the world was created by the gods, animals were granted with a habitat which had everything they needed to coexist and survive. There were four environments side by side in a supercontinent, there was one for winter, one for autumn, one for spring and one for summer. The Gods were happy with their creation and provided the animals with everything they asked for. There was only one rule, everyone had to stay in their respective environment.

Bearnard was a polar bear, who lived in the border between winter and autumn habitats. He liked to watch a beautiful grizzly bear, who spend her days sunbathing at the lakeshore. One day Bearnard decided to talk with Gigi.

-

Hey — he said

-

Hey  — she replied

After that amazing talk Bearnard couldn’t wait to cross and see Gigi, not even once remembering the rules of the Gods. Bearnard threw himself on the water and started to swim towards the autumn shore, where Gigi was waiting for him.

When the gods notice Bearnard intentions they got so mad that they decided to make sure no animal would ever cross the border again. They decided to separate the four habitats in separated continents. Bearnard was so distracted by Gigi he did not saw his home flowing away.

Animals from around the world were amazed to see how everything was changing. Border friends, clans, brotherhoods and all kinds of relationships were gone. All this while Bearnard was still looking for Gigi.

Bearnard and Gigi were having a good time until Bearnard…

-

This has been the best time of my life, Gigi, he said

-

Well, I suppose it's been fun… She said

-

Fun? It was amazing. We totally fit together.

-

Bearnard don´t do this, you are an amazing friend.

-

Well, I can do even better as more than a friend.

-

Don´t make this more difficult to me.

-

But, but I love you . Gigi you are the love of my life.

-

You don’t even know me! Goodbye Bearnard.

After losing the love of his life, Bearnard defeated was hoping to go home and hibernate for at least five years. He went to the shore, looking for his home but saw nothing, just water. He tried to swim back home, thinking it was just an illusion or a dream but after several miles he realized his house was gone and he returned to what was left in the autumn environment, or in other words, his new home.

This was the beginning of our continents and the earth as we know it.
