You were that girl that I wanted to be

I feared you in the beginning

I wanted to be next to you

I was you

We were the same

You were me

You wanted what I had

You wanted the life that I hated so much

You were the one that calmed my worries

You helped me through the hard times

I picked you up when you needed to get away

I covered for you when you needed your space

I gave you access to what I lived

I let you in for free

You had my heart like only one woman could have it

You could trust me with your life

And I showed that to you

I would give you the shirt off my back and the shoes off my feet

You found him

You left me

You found a new way of life

You failed to remember where you came from

I was there and you walked right past

Your life was the life I had
