Patient

Patience has never been my thing

But something this time makes me think it’s worth it

Aside from the confusion in my mind

Things are golden

I sit and I wait for you to do what you need to do

Putting my faith in love this time

I see you walking and I hear you talking

I try not to speak

I try not to stare

Instead I am patient

A long time coming- how I have waited for these moments with you

For you to tell me that you love me and will come for me

Setting your dreams out in front of me

They instantly become mine

Your harsh words cut like a knife so I become patient

A bad week for you becomes a lonely lifetime for me

Not wanting to be oh so lonely- I wait

Quietly scheming

Thinking of ways to surprise you

Secret plane rides, a soft tap on your door

But I will wait for the right moment so I will stay…

Patient
