WHEN I FOLLOW MAMA HOME

Mothers day won't be the same,
since dear old mom has gone.
but i know someday i'll see her,
 when i follow mama home.

Like many times when i was young,
 at mama's heels i'd run,
i'd follow her each step she took,
 from dawn until setting sun.

and then at night when i lay down,
my mom would tuck me in.
she would listen as i said my prayers,
 and when i'd say amen.

my mom would pray, and thank the Lord,
for keeping us safe that day.
and it sure did bless my heart each night,
 to hear my mother pray.

mama taught me right from wrong,
and showed me how to live.
she brought me joy and happiness.
with all the love she's give.

then God in heaven called her home,
 to sing around his throne.
and i know someday we'll meet again.
 when i follow mama home.
