The vacant Apple Tree

The vacant apple tree

A bitter end and a beautiful beginning

Sometimes you just want to give in

With what you've been given

I know you want to be delivered

From the binding shackles of him

Best believe I still carry some shackles of her

Let's drive from that city

Until in our rearview it's a blur

We get lured into regret

Feels like an unpaid debt

Nothing left but that longing for the opposite sex

Off of your feet your swept, inevitably you wept

Constantly living for a relationship death,

But now it's time for life

Aren't you ready for your mind to be at ease?

Time to smell the roses

Inhale the spring breeze

Time for the basics, for me complexity is so far

Be awed by a sunset, stop... for a moment

Witness the magnificence of God

scarred from hurts incision, that hit you and split you

wounds come baby, but we have regenerating tissue

I bet he will miss you, he'll never forget you

Just remember he never was the source that lifts you

Just another brother selling some dreams

Bootleg at that

Motives are unseen

Things aren't what they seem

But it is what it is

Many times we open our hearts but close our eyelids

We focus on slick talk, nowadays thats so profuse

Ignoring the barren tree before us...

That has no fruit.
