Author's Notes/Comments: 

I woke from a dream with these lines intact not more than fifteen minutes ago.  The damage done to the beauty of stockings and nylons by so-called "high fashion" is too terrible to measure; witness, for example, the condemnation of reinforced toes and/or heels.
