The Titanic's Law
Our time proceeds with little common sense,
not even gathered from experience.
The first statement most people hear, they believe;
even if the intent is to deceive.
They are too lazy to think; most of them dread it.
So they give the first words they hear the ultimate credit.
This type of illogic was rudely shaken and thrust into panic
aboard the sinking, once deemed unsinkable, Titanic.
