SIXTEEN

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

You want to do it all.

                  You think you can fly.

You want to be as high as the sky.

                 You think you'll never fall.

                     Sixteen.

You don't always know right from wrong.

   You sing a blues song.

Sometimes you do, it's true, but you want to play anyway.

You want to discover.  You want to uncover.

There's all this commotion.  There's all this promotion.

                    Sixteen.

You are a real teen.  You want to be seen.

You want to dream.  You want to scream.

You want it all.  You hit the wall.

You get a car.  You want to go far.

You drive.  You really have arrived.

You drive.  You want to thrive.

                Sixteen.

You want to explore.  You want to open every door.

You have all this emotions.  You sometimes make a commotion.

You want to fly.  You want to die.  You want to try.  Yes, sometimes, you cry.

You want a chance.  You want to dance.

You want to get out.  You want to know what it's all about.

              Sixteen.

A first love, a first crush.  You love him/her so much.

There are days, you know, and don't know what to do.

You lay on your bed.  All these thoughts in your head.

You never want it to end.  All your friends.
