THE PLAINS

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

The plains can drive you insane.

The sameness is really a mess.

      A mistake?  I confess.

    It can drive you insane.

Nothing to see for miles and miles and miles.

            There are no smiles.

There is nobody around.  Being lost and never found.

There's a feeling that can't shake.  Maybe this was a mistake.

There's no song.  They've been there a time long.

They are all alone.  Maybe they should go home.

        There is no sound.

There are no friends.  Will this ever end

           There is the rain,

            Sometimes, a train.

Day after day.  Is this the way.

The days never end.  There are no friends.

            The nights are never bright.
