MY BABY'S GONE

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

            She has left me.

She skipped the state.  No, it's not great.

This town, she did skip.  It's worse than a hit on the lip.

I hope you see, it's worse than a knee injury.

             My baby's gone.

           It's really, really, not fair.

I, for her, really did care.

I, thinking of it, pulled out, all my fair.

Where did she head?  Every night, I lay alone in bed.

          I hope she comes home.

           My baby's gone.

She took all my money.  She called me honey.

With me, she did not stay.  I remember when we did play.

I gave her it all.  She hit me with a wrecking ball.

Where did she go?  I don't know.

                My baby's gone.

A heavy rain on the lawn.

A freight train in my brain.

A major pain in my heart.

I really thought something we could start.

         My baby's gone.

It makes me want to shout, cry, and scream.

      I don't know what it's about.

It's worse than a bad dream.  I'm out of ice cream.

      I don't know what it's about.

I just want to know why.

        Oh, my baby's gone.

       Yeah, my baby's gone.
