THEN CAME THE SPRING

COUNTRY POEMS

              The winter was getting cold.

              The winter was getting old.

Long before; the flowers met their fold.

              There was too much snow.

Some days, there was no place anybody could go.

             Then came the spring.

I had felt I was going to freeze.

      I had begged please, please.

I want the spring to arrive.

Winter is not the season in which I thrive.

               Then came the spring.

      This winter, I was sick.

I wanted spring to come really quick.

The snow was really, really, thick.

My dear, I had a fear that it would never get here.

            Then came the spring.

             The rivers so clear.

             Spring was finally here!

             No longer would I shiver.

             No longer would I quiver.

            Then came the spring.

            Warm were the days.

Outside is where we could play.

Indoors, we, you see, would not need to stay.

The seeds of summer had begun.

           This sure was fun.

              Oh, then came the spring.

              Yeah, then came the spring
