I GUESS WE NEED TO SAY GOODBYE

COUNTRY POEMS

         You're right, I do confess.

What we have here, my dear is a real mess.

         It's really not a delight.

This bright summer day, has turned to night.

We need to away from each other, fly now.

I guess we need to say goodbye.

I'm standing here, my dear, outside your door.

I'm trying to hide my fear.

         A heavy pain, I can't ignore.

A long freight train, a jumbo jet plane in my head.

I wish I was in bed.

I know we will both cry.  I kmow we both did try.

I guess we need to say goodbye.

There's rain on my face.  I wish I were in a different place.

Snow falls too.  Snow from the sky.  A tear from my eye.

I need someplace new.

I need somebody new.  Yes, it's true.

I guess we need to say goodbye.

         No longer will we talk.

         No longer will we walk.

No longer will we play.  I guess it is ok.

It's the end of the day.

Oh, I guess we need to say goodbye.

Yeah, I guess we need to say goodbye.
