GOLD COIN IN A CORNFIELD

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

            Some find needles in haystacks.

Some in getting women in the sack.

To some, heaven is a six pack or

            a porno magazine stack.

A real life is what they really lack.

I found a gold coin in a corn field.

            It was a shock.

My prison was about to unlock.

My boat was at the dock.

I felt like I had seen a hawk.

With all the animals I could talk.

I found a gold coin in a corn field.

            My train had come in.

My plane was at the gate.

I could not believe my fate.

I guess me, fate no longer did hate.

Things were really happening at a fast rate.

It was better than a date.

            I was finding a mate.

I could not believe my luck

I found a gold coin in a corn field.

I shot every carnival game duck.

I felt like I had been hit by a big truck.

I was going to win a buck or more.

            What a score!

The game show I did win.

Oh, I found a gold coin in a corn field.

Yeah, I found a gold coin in a corn field.
