GOING EAST

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

The sun raises in the east.

  Yes, it is true.

All of the pain you have been going through will cease.

I know, there were times, it really made you blue.

      Going east.

               The opening of the eyes.

               Begins, a real feast.

Raises, does the yeast for the bread.

All the thoughts going in my head.

Raises too, does the anticipation of

the great sensations for me and you.

     Going east.

We look at the great sights.

              No more cold, lonely nights.

No more nights where we just talk on the phone.

We are going home, we will no longer be alone.

The start of a new day.

The start of a new way.

           A new way to play.

Something, that will be more than ok.

      Going east.

See, we will get in the car and flee.

            As peaceful as a tree.

            As fast as a bee.

This place you will no longer play.

This place you will no longer stay.

        Going east.

You're the love of my life.

I've waited so long for a wife.

We do not want to be tardy to

            This rolling party.

We do not want to be late to

            this twist of fate.

    Going east.

East we will glide, me and my beautiful bride.

Over the river Mississip, at the beginning of

             the trip.

             Through the towns and cities.

             They look so pretty.

Along the highway, it seems to stretch to

         the sky.

We will go by car, and we will get far

           Oh, we are going east.

        Yeah, we are going east.
