THE TALL RIVER TREE

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

During the day when we want to play.

During the night when we want a delight too. OO.

We stay late, it is really great.

When we want to take a dip in the Mississip river.

At the tall river tree, tee hee.

The Mississip will certainly not make us shiver in

          the cold.

When we want to be bold.

You see, we go to the tall river tree.

          On the Illinois/Iowa line.

Girls and boys have a great time.

At the tall river tree, tee hee.

The fun in the sun is never done.

It can be a pain in the rain.

To not fall on the ground all around is what we hope.

However, it is fun to slide and glide down through the air

          on the rope.

Then, we can have a ball and fall into the water.

It is great on summer days,

when it feels like it can't get any hotter.

At the tall river tree, tee hee.

It is so high as high as the sky.

We look down below and we say "my oh my."

Then, we jump and say "bye bye."

On the way, we do curls and twirls.

Some, with swim fins, do spins.

At the tall river tree, tee hee.

It is more fun than the mall.

        We really have a ball.

It is sad when it ends in the fall.

In comes the ice and cold, like a wall.

Oh, the tall river tree, tee hee.

Yeah, the tall river tree, tee hee.
