NOTHING BUT LIES

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

Should have seen through your disguise.

Should have known sooner or later your cover would be blown.

  I gave a great moan.

After talking to you on the computer and the phone.

The person you really were, would be exposed.

Oh, it was nothing but lies.  What a big surprise!

I looked into the eye of yours; and you looked into

     the eye of mine.

     My oh my.

When I found out what you said about loving me was not true.

     I felt so blue.

     I wanted to cry.

     I wanted to die.

Oh, it was nothing but lies.  What a big surprise!

Tears from my eye; like water from the sky.

My oh my.  Why oh why.

You made me want you.  OO.

You made me feel that you were a steal and

   a great deal.

That what we had was real.

My memories are going to haunt me.

My friends are going to taunt me.

You said it was me you did love; then you hit me with

     a boxing glove.

Oh, it was nothing but lies?  What a big surprise!

I should have shut the door, before you knocked me to

     the floor.

That is what my friends said I should do.

You said a prize I would win.

Now, all I hear is the loud din.

I should have seen it coming, and started running.

Oh, it was nothing but lies?  What a big surprise!

There was somebody else in your eyes.

Somebody else you wanted to find.

There was somebody else in your mind.

How was to know I, that you were thinking of another guy?

You were thinking of a man named Dan?

Playing with me was all part of your master plan?

I would get close, and then you would shoot me with

     a blaster.

Oh, it was nothing but lies?  What a big surprise?

Yeah, it was nothing but lies?  What a big surprise?
