TO THINK I ALMOST STAYED HOME

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

           I would have been home.

I would have been all alone.

It would have been the same thing.

A blues song I would have wanted to sing.

To think I almost stayed home.

All night, darkness and no light.

I went to the home of my girlfriend.

        It was fun without end.

All the things that were done.

To think, I almost stayed home.

I joined a gang watching the Red Sox game.

      The songs of support sang.

      At times, it was insane.

To think, I almost stayed home.

We went for a walk.  We did talk.

       We had ice cream.

It was better than a dream.

We held hands.  We really did understand.
