THEY WANTED TO TRY

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

           These people wanted to fly.

           These people wanted to roar.

           These people wanted to soar.

They were not afraid to try.

These people knew they could die.

These people knew they could cry.

They were not afraid to try.

           In the dark night.

           There was no light.

           These people had some fright.

           But they wanted to try.

           In the west,

A land they all believed was best.

A land where they would have to work hard, and not

             take a rest.

After that, they could have a fest.

A land they all wanted to roam.

A land where they would be far from home.

          They wanted to try.
