MAMA, WHY CAN'T I

      Mama, I want to stay up late.  There's a great movie that will be on, and will not be on agaikn till a later date.

      Mama, I wana go out on a date.  Mama, I won't be home too late.  Mama, that Larissa Johnson is really first rate.

      Mama, I wana have candy for dinner.  I had a big lunch and I wana invite my best friend, Sandy.



             Mama, Why can't I?

             Why oh why can't I?

             Mama, please tell me.  

             Mama, please tell me, tell me, or I'm gonna cry.

                        

   Mama, I want to watch TV before my chores are done.  

   There's this great show coming on, it looks really fun.

   Mama, with my sister and a neighbor we met, I want to have a cool duel with our water guns.  You always say, don't be cruel, I just want to get set her really wet.

   Mama, near the house, I want to hit a baseball with this bat.  I want to watch the ball with my eye, and see if it will fly.

   Mama, over the summer can I keep Dan's pet rat Dude?  He said I could, and he gave me his cage, some shavings of wood, and some food.

              Mama, please tell me.  

              Mama, please tell me, tell me or I'm gonna cry.  

        

Mama, I want to have a TV in my room.  That way, I can watch TV all day, my favorite show, Zoom.   I can even watch TV all night.  It will be outa sight.

       Mama, I don't want to go from school.  Mama, why do I have to go, anyway?  I am not a fool.  I want to stay home and with you and play.  Now, that will be cool.

       Mama, I want, with all my clothes on, jump into this lake.  I wana see what happens, it will be cool, and I know it won't be a mistake.
