IN A WAR

Folder:
TEACHING POEMS

              In a war, people die.

In a war, innocent civilians die.

In a war, innocent people get detained.

In a war, lives get destroyed.

The enemy is not the only thing that kills in a war.

Panic spreads far and wide, like a plague killing anything and everything.

Paranoia spreads far and wide, like a plague killing

anything and everything.

We saw it in World War II.

Innocent Japanese who did nothing wrong,

Innocent Japanese just trying to live their lives.

      We saw it after 9/11.

Innocent Arabs who did nothing wrong.

Innocent Arabs just trying to live their lives.

Yep, panic and paranoia spreads deep into our souls.
