THEN CAME THE DAWN

COUNTRY POEMS

            I did walk all night.

There was nobody around to talk.

            There was not a sound.

I tried to hide my fright.

            It was not a delight.

            Then came the dawn.

The night seemed never to end.

I was alone and cold to the bone.

The evil king on his throne.

It seemed to go on for years.

All the tears I cry; no matter.

To my head, took the bat did the batter.

            Then came the dawn.

I watched the sun come in to the day.

On it's face, I could see it's grin.

I could see the dew on the grass.

I glad that the night did pass.

            I was over my fright.

              Oh, then came the dawn.

              Yeah, then came the dawn.
