LOST

COUNTRY POEMS

When you lost in the universe,

            It is a curse.

It is worse than a curse.

            Again and again and again.

            There is not an end.

The situation, there is no way to mend.

When you are lost in the universe.

You can see it clearly.  You can.

You can see with your eye, that

you are lost in the sky.

            My oh my!

When you are lost in the universe.

When you are lost, among the stars,

When you are lost, near Mercury and Mars.

It is like you are walking along

a busy highway, but there are no cars.

It is like you are in a candy store, or

   your grandmother's kitchen,

but there are just empty jars.

When you are lost in the universe.

When you see that you far from Earth,

that your feet are not on solid turf.

When you wonder, what you are worth in

         dollars and cents.

When you are in, a fence box.

When you feel worse than having chicken pox.

When that does not make you want to grin.

When you feel, you are on a collar that is too tight.

When your face feels all white.

When you are lost in the universe.
