They say there is nothing harder than living life. But the life of an addict is perhaps the hardest life of all. I know from experience because I've been there and lived it. I've lost close friends and even family to addiction. Some of us recover but not everyone finds peace at their rock bottom, some just find the cold hard ground before their time. I like to think heaven is a peaceful place where everyone goes. Where no one hurts or cries. Where no one feels loss and we all get to be together again. Maybe I need to envision this so I can live my life peacefully in a time of great pain

Heaven has gained another angel. I knew not her soul just the name that rests on her cold rock bottom, but I weep for her all the same. My sister from another life has joined the afterlife now.

My name is Chanda Sue Healton Burton. I am one of the lucky ones. I fought the world's hardest war and I came out unscathed. I came out of it alive. I am one of the lucky ones. 14 years and one beautiful daughter later, I still breathe the air our holy father meant for my lungs. It could have been me on this day because one is too many but a million is never enough. Rest in peace my angel. Fly high and bless us with the wisdom in your heart. Though I know only your name, I feel your spirit with me today and always.
