Love, You Are Not Welcome Here

You promise life

And then you bring the reaper

You promise a rainbow

But rain clouds appear

You promise creation

And spawn destruction

How dare you?

You own my soul at your whim

And lead me in a delusional stupor

To unleash hell within

You leave me alone and broken

To pick up the pieces of my heart

Put it back together

To have it broken apart

Your promise hides a lie

You give me wings

To convince me to fly

Only to have me fall to the ground again

Pain unbearable

Dying again

Getting up and repeating the process

Damn you to hell Love!

You are not welcome here

You are the source of the pain that I fear

Great job!

I have been here a time or two, and I see the truth and conviction in your well placed lines.

Reminds me a lot of something I wrote from a simmilar disposition.

Terrible place, awesome description.

"The stars awaken a certain reverence, because though always present, they are inaccessible; but all natural objects make a kindred impression, when the mind is open to their influence." R.W.E.

Thank you very much for

Thank you very much for sharing your reflection on my work and sharing your own. I read your poem. We take on the same topic and express it in different ways. Your poem contemplates Love's cruel nature by addressing its effect on you and then comparing it to phenomenons that occur in nature. While I speak to Love as deciever and elaborate on the effects it has had on my soul. I like the comparison of Love and the moon. I have always been on the dark side of the moon. Been there so long I doubt the exsistence of the bright side and I honestly want more than anything to get off the moon. I really enjoyed the song as well. It falls right into my genre of music. The band reminded me a bit of slipknot and mudvayne. The song that usually came to mind for me to illustrate Love's unwanted presence was usually "my curse" by killswitch engage:    thanks again for sharing with me
