she falls apart

she writes when nobody looks

an eye is being graced, it's only by his presence

they put on the daylight

and wore it until trinity ended

green paradise is set out, she's ready to jump

one day we saw her

wild hair blowing in the wind

of what seemed an eternity of waiting

she quotes shakespeare and silent films

and has a different laugh each time

she sighed over a somebody

but he couldn't hear her singing

she danced with the roses

but he stopped remembering her voice

she breathed his carbon air

she could wear the cheap goodwill gowns

but she'd still look like a princess

although the slippers never fit

she bought a song

and it quipped her word for word

rented old movies and watched them on the floor

said no to the salesmen with dazzling teeth

bought a box of kleenex

and made up a new name for herself

teacup beauty

she felt the raindrops from inside

they caught and held her still

as if a single move would disturb their sanctity

he came and kissed her, she forgot the rain

but that was okay..
