Kates Poem

I only meant to glance but my gaze did linger
saw no possesive jewellery on her finger
she wore bright colours and pretty dresses
hair fell down her back in those silken tresses
a brown lock breaks away another errant strand
pushed back into place with those delicate hands
but it isnt merely her beauty that makes me stare
at every movement of her pen and flick of her hair
rather it is her intelligence which is part of the attraction
and the combination drives me to distraction
shes funny and honestly kinda nerdy too
knows monty python and lord of the rings all the way through
if i pluck up the courage maybe ill ask her out
until that day she is just a muse to write about
