I've given up and thrown down my sword

Take me prisoner and I'll move forward

Into a life where loneliness abounds

Someone to love may never be found



I've let down my guard and surrendered all hope

Will someone please save me and toss me a rope?

Into a cave of darkness where no light may shine

You must be my hero, so will you be mine?



Foiled again, I've fallen back down

Into that dreadful pit where my heart drowns

Just leave me here, I can't catch my breath

My love has sank and my heart's met death
