A Poem For Our Futures

Clean slate, a piece of chalk,

A big place, fifteen minute walk,

A second chance,

One last glance,

At my past as I wave it goodbye.

Reluctantly, yes as it's hard not to cry.

But they're moving on,

I'll be happier, too,

New faces, new classrooms,

New friends to be made,

Sooner or later the memories fade,

A dark, misty space in a forest glade,

I'll mis you all but as I grow,

I'll remember all my friends I used to know.
