Better Day

Dark eyes, dark skin, dark soul,

There's something about her that makes her seem whole,

Yet her independant flair is stricken with sadness,

Her beauty remains still amongst all the madness,

This contradictory women is a mystery to all,

As we never quite understood what made her fall,

And what makes her laugh out so free and loud?

And what makes all her friends look at her so proud.

And what makes those pretty dark brown eyes frown?

She doesn't see the way that they admire her stance,

The fact that just about any man would love to get into her pants,

She stands up and stands tall and that's all they see,

A mysterious woman: made just to be a beauty.

But they don't see that thing inside,

That looks so heavy ... that might have died,

Just a little candle burning softly away,

She's praying and waiting for that better day.

Someone's hurt you so bad,

And it just makes me mad,

Because they can't see that fire inside,

When you told me your stories I almost cried,

To know that such a dark angel could be so abused,

I'll never let anyone make you feel so damn used.

You're my star and I'm your fairy,

We'll face this fucking scary,

World and together we'll pray,

For our better day...

Well, mystery woman - don't pray alone any more,

I'll kneel beside you until my knees get sore,

Both lost and confused together we'll pray,

Together we'll strive for this better day,

Forget that they ignore our hurt and our pain,

Together we'll make it. We'll see through this rain.

We'll fly into the clouds and we'll sit by the streams,

I'll never forget your invisible tears and silent screams...
