I've so long coveted
The stains on a soul
The pain in a heart
And the hurt that it won't wash away
To wish for a shelter
Brought nothing but joy
But the shadows always follow
So gray
Stalked by demons
And regrets from the past
Memories taunt from a time
So far from here
To hear a harsh judgement
And witness tainted love
To know the burning scars
Of my heart won't disappear...
