THE PLAYGROUND OF A LONELY CHILD

Around and around on the merry-go-round

Passing that same ant-hill for the millionth time

Somehow I cant get off and I begin to cry

Mommy's yelling and she's wearing a disappointed frown

Back and forth on the big girl swings

Kicking my legs as hard as I possibly can

To jump off and go far is my plan

But pain is all that that brings

Up and down on the see-saw

I laugh because I come quickly down

But there is no one there to return the sound

It seems that loneliness is the law

Life has been like that old park

Full of people whose names I do not know

Kicking up sand, but its all just for show

And my parents? well, for them i make no remark
