1965 My Darling

by Brenda Williams

1965

I'll do all I can just to make you mine

for in you I see only sunshine.

All the colors of a rainbow dare not compare

with the splendor given to this love affair.

I've longed for the song you've given my heart,

I think only of being in you arms when apart.

I feel that you can never hold me long enough,

for when you are away ... the going gets rough.

Say that you love me and show that you care,

this torch that I carry is almost too much to bear.

I want you my darling, can't you see?

It matters not what ... I can and will be.

The slightest touch of your hand deeply warms my soul.

The love in you even outshines the gold.

I need you my love in so many ways,

With you I would gladly spend the rest of my days.

The tenderness in you I remember so well,

I see in my mind all that you are ... more than words can tell.

Take me in your arms and hold me tight,

Make the gloom go away that comes with the night.

Your body pressed close to mine ... such wonder ... such splendor,

I'll hesitate not ... into your love I surrender.
