Wrong Turn

Poems

It was noon that day,I was half a mile from the river

with the sun beating down,I came to the fork in the road

The usual left would lead me straight to Ginther

But I never made it there

Took a right instead

and it was a time that I'll sure never forget

The path I chose seem to go on for hours

it grew dark and I thought about turning around

When I noticed a tree with no leaves and four purple flowers

Bent down on one knee

looked up and what did I see

The most beautiful girl in the world saying come with me

I said "What the hell,I'm always up for an adventure"

So I followed her down the rest of the road

she had big brown eyes, golden hair and a perfect smile

Took me by the hand

and away we ran

wound up counting stars while laying in the sand

We got talking, she told me she was from the west

where the sun shines strong and the days seem to never end

I knew right away, she wasn't like the rest

we talked all night

with a fire burning bright

never before did something seem so right

But in the blink of an eye she told me she would have to move on

for there was another place she belonged

As quick as she was there, just as quick she was gone

said "goodbye my friend,

we'll meet again,

don't look at this like it is the end"
